The 53rd Annual City Putting Championship is a one of kind competition rich with tradition and hosted by the Sacramento Golf Council. The best putters in the Greater Sacramento Area have competed for the title of “City Putting Champion” including PGA Tour Winner, Bill Glasson.
In 2011, the Sacramento Golf Council is pleased to partner with the Haggin Oaks Golf Expo to expand the competition and add additional excitement to the 3-day Golf Expo. In addition, Never Compromise Putters has become the event sponsor and will provide “Gambler Series Putters” to the Champions of each flight.
Eligibility, Date & Location
The Sacramento City Putting Championship is open to all amateur golfers of all ages. The Sacramento City Putting Championship will be held on the Alister MacKenzie Practice Putting Green during the 3-day Golf Expo - April 29th, 30th & May 1st, 2011.
Registration Process & Entry Fee
Each participant will go to the registration tent located near the practice putting green to register. A player will have successfully registered for the City Putting Championship by filling out the registration form and paying the $5 qualifying fee. The tournament committee will accept cash at the registration tent located near the practice putting green.
The City Putting Championship finals will be held on Sunday, May 1st. To play in the finals, golfers will need to qualify in advance on Friday, April 29th or Saturday, April 30th from 9am to 5pm. The top 16 players in each flight will qualify for the finals.
- Qualifying Format will be 18-hole stroke play. Players may play multiple qualifying rounds. Each round will require the $5 entry fee.
- Finals Format will be 18-hole match play. Seeding will be based on their qualifying scores. Matches finishing in a tie will proceed back to the 1st hole in a sudden victory format.
Flights & Awards
The City Putting Championship flights will be as follows:
- Men’s Flight Ladies Flight Junior Flight *must be 17 or younger on April 29th
Each flight winner will receive a Never Compromise Gambler Series putters (valued at $300 ea.). In addition, the top four players in each flight will receive Haggin Oaks gift cards.
* Sacramento City Putting Championship proceeds will go to fund the 2011 SGC Junior Championships.
